Minnkota is proud of the home communities in which our employees live, work and play. Although our cooperative’s families live in dozens of rural towns, our facilities are positioned in or near three key North Dakota communities – Grand Forks-East Grand Forks, Center and Bismarck-Mandan.

Grand Forks-East Grand Forks

Minnkota Power Cooperative’s corporate headquarters is located in Grand Forks, N.D. Home to more than 65,000 people, the Greater Grand Forks area offers rural serenity with all the amenities and opportunities of a city setting.

Center

Center is located about 40 miles northwest of the capital city of Bismarck, N.D. The community of about 575 people is the county seat of Oliver County, which consistently ranks in the top five highest-paid counties in North Dakota based on average annual wages.

Bismarck-Mandan

Many of Minnkota's employees who work at the Milton R. Young Station commute about 40 miles from the Bismarck-Mandan area. As the capital city of North Dakota, Bismarck is an active community of 73,000 people.
